Report for 19th February Litter Pick

Sixteen bags collected by ten Ravensbourne residents

Welcome to the Ravensbourne Residents Association February litter pick report. At the same time our friends in the neighbouring Culverley Green Residents Association had people litter picking their roads.

Storm Eunice Clean-up

A big thank you to the ten residents/volunteers that turned up to help including: Steve, Julie, Mick, Eric, Andy, Margaret, Allan, Debbie, Theresa and Diana.

The levels of litter was unprecedented, much of it gathering in front gardens under hedges etc. Lots of plastic, not the usual litter probably from fallen bins and blown from local building sites and skips.

We dedicated six volunteers to just covering Bellingham Road’s litter which was horrendous. Thornsbeach Road wasn’t much better and needed extra intervention on Sunday due to fly-tipping in Callander Road.

The sixteen bags of litter we collected was taken to the Churchfields Road reuse and recycling centre which is managed by the Borough of Bromley. We pay the £3.00 fee as we are out of borough.

Community Action

Join our next litter pick on Saturday 19th March at 10.30am meeting at the junction of Crantock Road and Thornsbeach Road. Please bring your own protective gloves.

You will not only be helping your community by combatting litter, you will also be meeting other like-minded people, whilst getting some fresh air and exercise. We provide all the training and equipment to borrow on the day.

See you at the next litter pick. Come and join in the fun.
